Planting Roots Class

Come on over and lets plant some flowers together! I will show you how to plant some techniques in our garden to grow beautiful flowers.

This class is set up on the

Create, Share and Inspire Ning Site.

We have a classroom set up for this class. In the classroom there are video tutorials on all the flowers that I will be making at the private live show. I am doing the classes like this so you will be able to view all the tutorials before or after show. There will be discussions, supply list, member showcases and etc.

In the classroom you can interact with other members, share your thoughts and creations with them too!

At the live show I will show you how to make all the flowers seen above in the picture as well as create a fun little garden to put them in!

Discounted add -on tool kits will be available for all my students in the classroom.

I'm Back!!

I'm back and I feel great! Some of you probably didn't know that I had left..LOL. That's OK....

I would say for about six months I have been dealing with a very dramatic situation at home. It wasn't very pleasant and if anyone ever knows what it feels like to have your wings clipped then you know the battle I faced!

Well, I can say with a very happy heart that I'm back and I'm walking in a different path in my life. I just got a new place and I'm still decorating and organizing my house but it's coming along great! I'm now a single parent which at times makes things a little tricky but nothing that keeps my wings from flying to the top!! I do have to say that a cheering section of people who believe in you definitely gives you a leg up! Surrounding yourself with positive people and who support what goals you set for yourself, is a must to reaching your dreams! It's harder to stay focus when your life is filled with drama. Sometimes the only way to deal with it is to walk away from it and DON'T look back! Some battles were not meant to be won!

Now I want YOU (blog follower, facebook friends, family and close friends) to repeat this several times until you can feel it and believe it "I deserve to be successful!"

Thinking big and bold is what it's all about. Too many of us are conditioned to think small. Well, not any more readers!! Beat on your chest and shout it out loud to the world! Tell everyone you know and make sure you totally believe that YOU can do it!!! The rest will follow and you will be on your way down the road to success. You'll never achieve success by passively and silently wishing and hoping for it. Today is the day! You have to ask for what you want in life and go out and make it happen.

Dream the big dreams!

I am and you can too!

Everyday is a challenge but if you put one foot forward each day, you will get there!

"Love Birds" Mini Album

Let me just say that I love this mini album. The colors and the embellishments just make this such a treat!

I had so much fun making it too! I used the DCWV - "Linen Closet" with K& Company SW Botanical "Robin Grand Adhesions".

The pages are made of chipboard. The silk flowers comes from Michale's in their new spring collection line that has just come out.

The mini album measures 5" x 3.25".

Each page has it's own personality.

Love the feathers on this page!

My blog title pretty much sums up what I need to start doing this year! The last two years have been a little rough but nothing that killed me, right? This year I have set some goals that I need to keep up with. I just dug out another comp book to start writing in. Of course I need to dress it up a little bit ;)

I really need to take the time to get reacquainted with myself. I think my first page should start off asking myself these questions:

-What are my strengths?

-What is my passion?

-What is special and unique about me?

Before I can embark on these new adventures that have been given to me, I really have to find out what "Anna" is all about. Where do I see myself going...??. I have almost felt as though I have been in a daze for a long time...and I mean a really long time! Now that my life is changing I need to do some evaluation on "Anna".

"Me" more than anyone has to believe that I can succeed, right? If you don't believe in yourself, no one else can! How can I even start to vision the paths that I want to travel down if I can't believe that I can walk down them! Self-doubt is one of the reasons that I have been in a daze and haven't been able to see clearly. I have to be able to trust my instincts and abilities without constantly second guessing myself.

Maybe it's time for some of you to break out a journal with me and start answering some of these questions too! Good luck....

Altered Baby Food Jar

I'm at my mom's house taking a small break before the New Year gets here. A much needed break if I say so myself..LOL. I jumped in front of the computer for some inspiration and surfed the internet. I ran across some altered bottles on Pinterest. It totally jumped started my gears and I was on a mission to sneak around my mom's craft room to find some..hehehe ;)

I found a large Beechnut Baby Food bottle and knew right away it didn't have a chance in the world to escape the wonderfulness that I was getting ready to do to it..LOL

The flowers I used on the top came from the small local mom and pop craft store in town. They had a huge bag (48pcs) 2" mulberry flowers for $4.99. I couldn't pass them up! I got a couple of bags.

I knew that the main color I was going to work with was purple, since I wanted to play with my new flowers I got. I always start out with a baggie and walk around the room filling it with things that coordinate with the color and theme I pick out for my projects. It makes a world of difference when you do this :)

I wanted to create a fairy bottle but my mom's printer isn't working so I made a captured garden..LOL. One that you could enjoy all year long! I like the look of the raffia tied around the top of the jar. I think it gives it a lot of character.

The "G" on the side of the bottle is for "Grace" my mom's name :)

I figured since she is going to be moving and packing up all her craft goodies real soon, she should be able to have some thing that she can leave out and enjoy. It's really small and doesn't take up much room at all..hint..hint.. I hope she gets the hint and doesn't put it in storage!! Or else..LOL.

MPTS - Boutonniere and Bouquet Class

I have had a lot of people ask when I was going to be teaching this class!

I have finally scheduled this class and I really think this one is going to be a lot of fun!

This is a 2 night class and packed with a lot of information.

I will be teaching you how to make the roses and how to add stems to them!

After you learn how to make the roses and put the stems on, we are going to have fun making some boutonnieres and bouquets with these roses.

I will be showing you how to add optional decor with your roses to dress up your arrangements. After you learn the skills how to create these beautiful arrangements, you will have a lot of fun coming up with your own creations.

New Corsages or Hair Pieces

I have been having so much fun playing around with these wedding inspiration boards! I love the colors in this one! The blue in this board is one of my favorites!!

This is one of my new corsages or hair pieces I have been creating.

Packaging Update

So I had to really go back to the drawing board when it came to my packaging!

These cute flowers need a cute place to hang out in before they get used on a project!

These are some new flowers that I will have coming to my store soon. I also have more colors coming as well. They will not be available until the end of Oct. Just in time for the Christmas season.

It's Giveaway Time....

As some of you already know I do Ustream shows called "Girl's Night" and we always have a really fun time creating on the spur of the moment! My friend Kristy thought it would be fun to see me alter a vinyl record. I have never really thought of altering one before and thought it would fun.

At this show I was playing around with Scraptastical Kreations "Garden Splendor" cutting files.

I used several of the files that are in that set to create the flowers, leaves, and stems.

The paper line I used was from BoBunny "Gabrielle" collection.

Both flowers are also made from that line of paper.

I have had a lot of people ask me what do I do with the projects I make for the Ustream shows. Well, some one suggested that I should have a giveaway with some of the projects I create. So, I thought it would be fun to find a new home for this altered vinyl record. Don't get me wrong I love this project but I have several more I will be making ;) for the holidays!

Altered Template - Ooh La La Vintage Treasures

Usually at girl's night on Ustream I will create for Ooh La La Vintage Treasures when I don't have any scheduled classes :) We always have a fun night and there is always some thing to learn when you come to these shows. These are not recorded so if you miss them well...I guess you will have to catch the next one ;)

I created this cute little box from one of the templates from Ooh La La Vintage Treasures. I used the mini book box template and created this one from the medium size template :)

I used several embellishments from their store. At the top of this box I used the flat back pearl trim along with two beautiful lace trims from their store as well!

This beautiful stick pin was made by Doreen and she some times has them listed in the store.

Tea à la mode

As you have seen lately I have been creating some of these flower sprays for Christmas. This was the latest one I created. I'm so addicted to making these now! I have a bunch more that I will be finishing up here soon to post.

I did a Ustream show last night on how to alter a empty tea bag box. I wasn't planning on doing a Ustream show and it was very last minute. I thought it would be fun for people to see what I was going to do with this box.

At our house we are always making tea, hot or cold. I have been recycling these boxes a lot this summer. Well, yesterday I finished up another box of tea and when I was getting ready to throw it out in the recycle bin, I stopped and a light bulb went off! I thought this would be a very cool box to alter!

So I took it back into my craft room and started to look at it and spin it around, to try to figure out what I was going to do with it. I thought it would look cute to dress it up with some holiday embellishments. I had a lot of the Melissa Frances paper from an order I placed many months ago, so I thought I should try to make a dent in the pile.

I covered the outside of the box and the inside of the lid with paper. I left the inside of the box bare since no one was going to see down inside of it. I wanted to fill that part up with tree garland. I then went back and added some paint around the edges and trimmed the sides with pom-pom trim. Then I had fun decorating it. I added one of the flower sprays from above to this cute box. I also added one of my snowflake ornaments to the inside of the lid. I made a few more paper flowers for the inside. I attached some ribbon to the bells and tied them to the bow I had made.

As you can see it turned out to be a cute recycled tea box! These would be perfect to make little gift baskets with. You could fill the inside with some bath products or some home made bake goodies too! The ideas are endless for filling these pretty boxes as gifts!

Here is a close up of one of the snowflake ornaments I list in the store. I will have a large selection of these in the coming weeks.

Here is a view of the flower spray I used in the corner.

Remember, these don't have to be just for Christmas! These are also great to decorate for any holiday or occasion. Since fall is near you could add some fall decor with some small pumpkins and a scarecrow sticking out it. Dress it up for Halloween and make your own personal grave yard. Add a few tomb stones and gray Spanish moss, with a few crows. So as you can see here again is another great project to create some thing fabulous out of an item around the house!

OK, enough with the singing right! You didn't come here to hear me sing..lol.

Well, here are the snowflakes that I have been working on! These are a great project to make for craft shows this time of year. I'm not sure about your area, but we have crafts shows here almost every weekend. Usually the cost of the tables are not that expensive. I guess it just depends on how big the show is and how many days it last.

These are perfect for trimming your tree or making wreaths with them. You can find the snowflakes at any craft store. Last year I found some at the Dollar Tree that worked just as good too! These snowflakes can be decorated in so many ways. You don't have to just add flowers. Other ideas would be to make small medallions and glue them in the middle...maybe with a saying "Merry Christmas", "New Year", "Joy" and the list goes on! Add some smaller snowflakes and build the snowflake up to have a lot of dimension. You could also add a small bow to the center of these as well. So, those were a few ideas for you now it's up to you, to let your creative side take control and have fun with these!

Fall Flower Sprays

Well, it's that time of year and fall will be rolling in pretty soon! Since fall has been on my mind lately I wanted to create a few sprays for the season. The new flower sprays that will be listed in my blog store soon are totally adjustable. Not that I would recommend adjusting them but you are able to.

They do sit flat and can be used on all kinds of projects! I see this on a fall wreath or on the outside of a basket. You can also use these on minis, shadow boxes and altered art. they would dress up a table setting as well. You could attach some ribbon to the back and use them as napkin rings!

I'm working on some more designs for fall and I'm getting ready to dig out the Christmas stock I have and play around with it very soon! Be sure to check back on my blog and see what I come up with next!

Going into a new direction....

OK, so you all should know by now that I LOVE making paper flowers! I have made a lot of paper flowers in the last couple of years and I am always finding new things to do with them.

I had a couple of people ask me to put stems on my flowers so they could make bouquets out of them. Well, I finally figured it out...well...more like had time to figure it how..LOL.

Now that I have added stems there are so many new adventures to travel when it comes to my flowers.

I started making these while i was waiting for hurricane "Irene" to get here.

I need to work on wrapping and hiding the wire on the butterfly a little better. Besides that I think it turned out really cute!

Here is another one I created. It's called "Vintage Gold"

I will offer these in my store pretty soon! I will also offer to customize these for any occasion (color or design)!

Here is my project I created using some of the "Sea Foam" collection roses in the store. I cut a 6" strip of a weaved place mat I got at the Dollar Store to make the napkin ring.

I attached both ends to make the round circle with some strong adhesive.

Then I added some leaves, tulle, and pollen stamens for accents around the roses.

I think this would make any place setting some thing to talk about! This napkin ring would look great sitting next to a plate for a wedding or a church luncheon.

These are fun and easy to make! It's easy to dress up a table using some of these roses!

Altered Book Box-DT "Ooh La La Vintage Treasures".

We had our fun "Girl's Night" crop over on my Ustream Channel last Saturday! I was given this box from one of my design team leaders "Doreen". I had no clue how I was going to alter this box. I just started white washing some butter cream paint onto the front and then the creative juices started flowing and this is what I ended up with at the end of the night!

I used many laces from "Ooh La La Vintage Treasures" $5.00 grab bag on the front cover of this box!

This very pretty applique is also available in their store as well!

The papers I used to cover the front of this book are from Graphic45 - "Once Upon A Springtime" In this photo you can see I also used a Tim Holtz button on the side for a knob.

The large flowers at the bottom of the box are handmade by me! You can find these and many more roses I create in my store at the top of this blog!

I would like to thank all the ladies who came over to my Ustream show on Saturday and hung out with me while I created this lovely box! We also have so much fun and we are always meeting new friends too!

MPTS Altered Journal Class

In this class we will be putting together a fabric journal. I will show you how to incorporate different materials onto the fabric. We will also use some average items that you can find around the house to alter for your journal. I will show you different techniques on how I stained a border on the side of one of my pages.

We will learn how to use a certain paint technique to add some nice decor to our pages as well.

I will have some machine sewing and hand sewing in this class as well.

My new sneak peek into some thing new!

OK, so last night I showed you all that wonderful fabric tag I created.

Here it is again if you missed it:

I told you all that it was going on some thing much bigger right?! Well, my project for it is a fabric album. This will be one of my online workshops that I will be adding soon! In this workshop we will be creating a fabric album by using so many different techniques to make it very special. I have told you all before I love all different types of hobbies and now I am getting ready to show you a lot of them in this fabric album. This album will be more of a fabric journal. This is going to be so much fun!

On this album I used a lot of items from "Ooh La La Vintage Treasures"

They have all different types of trim, burlap, and embellishments ot add to your projects.

On this page of the fabric journal I used burlap. decorative cardstock, and that wonderful bird you see there is from a napkin!

I used a glimmer mist technique for the edge of my album also to give it a unique look. These wonderful trims added so much character to this page.

I made these wonderful flowers out of old\book pages that I got from "Ooh La La Vintage Treasures".

I show you how to make these in this class as well! Well will be creating several sprays like this in this workshop!

Some thing new is coming to MPTS! Some thing that I have been planning to do for several months now. I enjoy trying to mix up my work with the different types of hobbies that I enjoy doing. Altered art sums it up on the types of projects I enjoy creating. I will be scheduling online workshops very soon. Some workshops will have a class kit that you can purchase and create along with me and others will have a supply list that will be emailed to you when you purchase the class. I'm super excited about the holidays coming up! I have tons of workshops that are being planned right now!

Flower Class Sign Ups

Hello every one,

I have had a LOT of emails about my up coming private flower class that will be on August 24th & 27th. There are many of you who would like to attend this class but already have the tools. My class fee is $15.00.

I want every one to understand that the first class is a basic tool class that I will demo all the tools and how we can use them to create different looks on our petals. The class on the 27th will be more of a flower class. I will teach you how to make these two flowers that are shown below:

My flower classes are private and recorded (password will be sent to you in an email). When you attend any of my flowers classes you will have 2 weeks after the class to review. My classes are set up so that you will be able to ask me questions right there on the spot and I can show you in detail how to recreate these flowers. In these classes you will have chances to win fun giveaways and learn some tips on how to preserve these beauties and much more!

Since I have been doing my UStream shows I have noticed that the best part of it all is teaching!

I have had so many people contact me and asked me to please do detailed classes on my flowers. I wasn't able to start doing these classes until now. I'm super excited about this adventure and I appreciate every one's supporting comments about doing these classes. Not only do I love creating these flowers but I love teaching others how to do it!

Right now I have a beginner tool class scheduled. This is my official start to the courses. This class I'm offering the tools and you are getting one of my classes for free. I have had a lot of people ask me where I get my tools and could I make a kit up for them.

In this class we will be going over the tools and how they work. This kit comes with a paper flower punch to get you started on the basic flowers. The first night we will be getting use to the terms of the tools and certain basic techniques they can achieve. The second night we will be creating some flowers with the punch that is provided. This is a beginner's class. You need to know the basics to be able to achieve the realistic look of my flowers. I highly recommend taking this class before you move onto my other classes.

My classes will be scored by stars (1-star: beginner class up to 4-stars: Elite)

I do not recommend you attending a 4 star class if this is your first time trying to create paper flowers!!

Some of my classes will have an optional add-on kit to purchase. Every class will have a supply list emailed to you after you sign up!

These classes will be private and you will get your password emailed to you or sent to you if you buy a kit (will be printed on the invoice). After the class you will have two weeks to go back and view the classes. These classes are under copy right notice. In no way can you take the information and package it for resale! These classes are personal use only!

We also have a ning site, in the site is a private area for our students to share their work and discuss classes. Once you sign up for a class you will be invited to join the private area on the ning site.

July's Ustream Class Kit - Shabby Chic Banner

This was so much fun to kit together! I'm so excited that I have started a count down to this class! The items in this class kit are gorgeous together. The best part is, that we will be playing around with 2 different types of fabric to give our banner some personality. The papers are from the BoBunny "Gabrielle" Collection. I love the colors in this collection. The colors and designs are going to be so much fun to play around with!
I also include some paper petals to show you how to make some pretty flowers for this project. I love the gold accent stems I give you to play around with too. The final result will be a vintage shabby chic look to our banner or single pennants!

The banner set comes with 9 pieces. We can create a long banner or a short one and use the ones we don't hang together as single pennants.

Ooh-La-La Vintage Tresures - Design Team Project

Here is another project I created using some of the items I got from Vintage Treasure's. I was very excited to get some of the Webster's pages from them. I haven't worked with these papers yet. The Webster's pages are so pretty! Very classic vintage but with splash of colors.

The paper I used on this layout was "Your Life. Beautiful." (US1797D)

The larger flowers are my own designed roses that I make by hand.

I used a Ivy stem I bought at Michaels a while back that had some pretty pink berries on it. I then added some more artificial leaves at the bottom to carry the spray down. I used some mulberry tiny roses to bring out some of the browns that are in the background of some of the papers that were used.

The frame around the picture was a digital cut file from the "Silhouette" cutting machine.

There are many small details tucked into this spray when you get a closer look.

The beautiful lace I used on the side of the layout is from the Vintage Treasure's store, so be sure to check out what is in stock!

I loved working with these papers and hope to do another layout from this collection soon!

Ustream Show "Girls Night"

I usually do "Girl's Night" Ustream shows on the Saturday nights that I don't have scheduled shows. I like these shows the best. We always have a lot of fun chatting and letting them pick what I create :) or show them! Well, this night I had to show off the mini hat box templates on "Ooh-la-la Vintage Treasures" blog, because I made some thing other than a box! I made a top hat from the template. I was so excited and like the girls saw that night I had rush through putting it together and it looked all junked up with glue. I did however show them how we can hide our mistakes..lol :)
I covered the outside with the wallpaper pieces that you can find in their store too!

Fairies Playing In The Garden

I some times will pop on Ustream on any given Saturday for a "girl's night" and ask what the ladies would like to see me create. These are always a lot of fun! Well, my DT package came from Patti and I had to share with the ladies what I got. After looking through all the stuff I had to play with them right away! So I asked the ladies what they would like to see me create and the first person to answer, I would do it. Well, the first one was a layout. I thought "oh man" I haven't done a layout in a very long time...I was a little scared..LOL. So I took the challenge and tried to finish the layout before the show was over but it was getting late. My kids kept going crazy, I had to get them in bed. I woke up this morning and finished it.

The flowers are handmade by me to match this collection. The leaves and stems are hand embossed and shaded to bring them to life. I also added some bling from "Recollection". The doilies have been tea dyed for a vintage look. I had a few left over from an earlier Ustream class last month using these in a handmade streamer.

MPTS KIt Club

Ok ladies,
So I have been talking about starting a kit club. Well I have finally had a chance for that to happen. After the two months of craziness it's time to share what its all about!

I do Ustream classes and had a lot of ladies ask me if I was going to sell kits for these classes. At the time when they were asking me life was a little crazy. I didn't have the time to get a kit club going. Well, now that life has calmed down, it's time to jump right in and take my classes to a new level. It's a work in progress but it's going to be awesome!

I had some of the ladies at the classes say they wish we had a place to share our projects. Well, I have been working on that for you ladies :) It's a ning site and it still needs some work but it's up and going. I think its great to get to know the people who show up at UStream a little better. It will also give me a chance to find out what you all would like to see me create at these classes too!

These kits that I will offer will be monthly and I will teach a class how to assemble the project. I will offer some smaller kits that I will demo on the ning site as well. Our members will have a choice for add-ons for their kits. These are great for giving your project that extra "wow"! The webiste for the kit club is also under construction but if you would like to bookmark it, here it is!

Here is a sample of some of the chipboard items you will get in the June tag kits. I will demo these tag kits in the ning site. These kits will have enough items to create "4" tags.

New addition to family?

When Abby got home from school last week she introduced me to "Hairy" our new addition to our family. She was super excited about this project that she did at school and let me tell you, I fell in love as soon as I saw it! He has a special little home on the bay window in our kitchen and is always the center of attention at meal time!

Abby loves the Cricut and plays with it more than I do! This weekend she was wanting to make a sign with her name on it. This sign is about 6"x6" and it turned out really cute. It's fun watching the girls play around with the different shapes that they cut out on the Cricut. They like to mix and match them up in ways that I never thought of before. I some times have to help them with the settings on it but they pretty much know how to use it. I let Abby use some flowers that I had laying around my scrap area for the project. Not bad for a 6yrs old ;)

Good Morning Monday!

As I sip on my cup of coffee this morning, I'm trying to sort out what to do first! I have to say that in the last month I have learned a lot about what path I want to travel down. Some times in life it doesn't feel as though you have a choice what path to take but you do! That was the hardest thing to learn and to actually feel it inside that you have the choice to do any thing you want to do! I really try hard to not look at things half empty but lately in the last couple of years that was my outlook. Sad, but true! Should I feel bad about the choices I have made in the past...nope! That's just another reason to hold on to some thing negative and not give some thing positive a chance to form in my life. Now a days I feel as though people take life WAY TOO serious! The hassle of "life" is what I read on some one's profile over the weekend and I thought "Wow...at least you are a live..lol". The very next moment I thought "hey, wait a minute, I think I have actually said that before"! I felt as though I was having a conversation with myself??? LOL...don't call the crazy bus yet, I think there is still hope for me!

My path had a fork in the road just recently and I had to make several hard choices but in the end it always works out! Just remember that every path has rest stops and exit ramps. Just in case the person next to you read the map wrong..lol!

So, today I sit here at my work station and try to be thankful that I actually have a chance to create and make some flowers. I made a flower spray set late last night after everyone went to sleep. I kind of like making these. They give you several options how to use them. The sprays are great to put on a card as well. So if you break the set up you can get a few projects out of it. The set also allows you to spread out the flowers across a two page layout, if you want to use them that way. It's like a large spray that has been broken up.

This set should be listed by this afternoon on my blog. I need to organize a page for items I want to sell on my blog. Trying to just sell my items on my blog instead going through a third party. It's another way to save money! That will also be on my "to do" list today as well ;)

I had did a class on this fence a while back and it was deleted by mistake.

I had several people ask if I could start making some class kits up so they could create along with me! I thought it was a great idea! I picked this to be one of my first kit classes since so many commented on these cute little fences.

The class will be held on June 11th @ 9pm EST. The class will be recorded since I know that many of us live in different time zones.

I am still in the process of creating the peg board kits but I have a date set for it. I should have those kits up by the end of the weekend I hope..lol.

Her name is Shaylee.....

This little shabby home actually has a name. She was blessed with the name Shaylee. Her name means fairy princess of the fields.

The fairies built this little house when they came to the mainland to bring spring. This house is a reminder that when we age we are actually blossoming into something beautiful!

Here is what I did to get the weathered look on the house.

I painted the house with a base coat of soft pink. After allowing the paint to dry I applied the weathered wooden medium to the house.

I waited about an hour and applied the soft blue paint over the medium.

It started to crack right away1

I then used a brown paint to coat the roof of the house. After the paint dried I applied the weather wood medium over top of it. After waiting about an hour I coated the roof with a vanilla cream color.

I really like the weathered look of the house. It gives it a shabby chic look.

I then created some flowers, leaves, and added a few rhinestones!

I hope I have motivated you to get your houses out and create with them! I have a very fun project I will post tomorrow. It's the mother's Day project I did for my mom. I will show you some before and after pictures too!

Beautiful Blooms and Tutorials

I decided to demo how I emboss my petals for some of my flowers.

For example like these:

What you will need:

Large Retro Flower Punch - EKSuccess

Medium Retro Flower Punch - EKSuccess

Stylist

Rolling Ball Empressor - EKSuccess

Spray Bottle of Water

Mouse Pad

Glue

Punch out 5 petals with the large retro flower punch and three from the medium retro flower punch.

Spray each set of petals with water. Do not over mist with water you will tear the paper!!

Flip your mouse pad over and place the petals onto it for a soft surface.

Then take your stylist and roll along the outer edges of the petals.

Then take your rolling ball empressor and smooth the inner petals to soften the hard embossed line.

After you finish smoothing all the petals, it's time to bring them to life!

Take your empressor and roll it around in the middle until your petals raise up into a cup shape!

It's time to create the flower now!

Place each set of petals inside one another one at a time with some glue.

alternate the petals and it should start to look like this:

After you finish with the large petals you will want to do the same for the small petals to create the bud for the inside of the flower.

Now it's time to place the small bud in the center to finish off your flower!

Easy as pie..lol!

Now get out those punches and start creating some fab flowers!!

Picture Frames with Handmade Paper Flowers

I love making my handmade roses and there are so many things you can put them on too! I decided to think off of the paper and try putting some on a picture frame. I really think these turned out so pretty! The black frame measures 9" x 7" and will hold a 4" x 6" picture in the middle. The white frame hangs from a ribbon and holds a 3.5" x 3.5" picture in the middle. The frame size is 7" x 7". Stop by my shop today and check these out!

Vintage Butterfly Garden

I made this over the weekend while I was playing with roses for my design team and doing housework..lol. I really love the yellow roses that are in my Etsy shop. I wanted to try them out on a layout. The first thing I found when I was searching for the paper I wanted, was these paper doilies. I used my homemade glimmer mist green and gold. I loved how it turned out. I used that when I was looking for the paper for this layout.

The paper I used was from the "Mariposa" collection by DCWV. I love this collection and when my mom got me the stack for Christmas I couldn't wait to play around with it!

My grandmother made these for me. She made them on her embroidery machine. I love these!! They took to the glimmer mist very well. I also added some gleams paint by Decoart on some of it, along with the Dazzling Metallic paint by Decoart.

Then comes all my handmade paper flowers that I did on this layout. I tend to make my own flowers since I'm on a budget..LOL. I'm a SAHM and we have 5 kids, so I can't always get the nice designer products. So I had to figure out a way to make my own and I think I do a pretty good job on them!

I hand made all the flowers and embossed all the leaves and petals you see here on this spray. The only thing I did not make are the little dark pink berries that peek out on the side of some of the flowers.

We all can walk right? Well, most of us can unless we have a disability. We are taught at a early age to walk and most of us are walking by the age "1". Some of us will start a little sooner and some a little later. The end result is that we are all walking because we were motivated to! If we were not motivated by someone and told to keep trying over and over, we would have never learned to walk. I'm here to tell you to WALK! Well, maybe I should say do not give up! You have to keep trying no matter how many times you fall. This can relate to our scrapping too! I would like to give you an example of how I am still learning how to WALK...lol.

I made this rose about year ago:

I thought these were cute but some thing kept telling me to keep trying.

Now almost a year later I make these using the same punch and technique:

I also want to talk with you about what "WALK" stands for here on my blog.

W= Willpower

A= Aggressiveness

L= Love

K= Kindness

When you are "WALKing" you first have to have "Willpower". You have to have the will to take your creativeness to the next level. If you don't have the willpower you will never be able to move a long to the next steps. The second step is Aggressiveness. You have to be aggressive towards what you want. You have to go and get it! Stop waiting for something to happen and or drop into your lap! The third step is "Love". You have to love what you do or it becomes a negative activity for you and you will not get very far with it! If you are not doing what you love the first two steps will soon disappear. The fourth is "Kindness". You have to be kind and give back. If you have ever heard of "give and you shall receive" well, that is very true. When you give, you are feeding a positive energy which is around you and in return positive things will be attracted to you . Then positive things will happen for you.

So, I hope you look at your scraps in a positive way today and "WALK".

Motivational Scrap - Cleaning out the junk in your head!

Before I can teach how to create some of these beautiful flowers, we need to do some cleaning! I call it, cleaning out the junk in your head. We are all creatures of habit and we need to break some of the rules we have stored in our thinking process. The first thing is no negative thinking! I know you are saying to yourself that is easier said than done. That's right and we are going to start in small steps.

If you think you can't, you already failed! You can condition yourself to break the habit of "I can't do that". Stop thinking "I don't have the talent like she does" WRONG!! I have talent like everyone who believes that they can do this! Talent is just a positive outcome. Talent isn't somethng that only certain people have. Everyone has talent and we just have to learn how to unlock it!

The first step in cleaning out our junk, is to keep score. This is probably the only time I will have you focus on negative thoughts. Today I will need you to get a sheet paper and pen. Put it some where you can get to it easy. On this paper you will be keeping score of your thoughts BUT only the negative ones! Every time you have a negative thought I want you to put a mark. I DO NOT want you to write out the negative thought. The reason is the more we see negative the more we will find negative. So the marks are just marks and that is the only thing that should be on the paper. Do not write a title on the paper, do not have anything else but your marks. Keep this to yourself and don't let anyone know what you are doing. This is a private list only for you to see! I want you to keep score for 5 days. Each day start a new sheet but keep all your old sheets.

You might be asking why I'm having you keep score. Our minds are train to see what we want to see. If I told you to look all around for only the color yellow in the room, you would find it. Now, I'm going to ask you to shut your eyes and when you do I will ask you to tell me what was red in the room. I bet you would have a hard time telling me what was red in the room. This goes back to the saying...if you think of positive things, positive things will happen to you. When we focus on negative thoughts our minds are trained to find the negative things around us, making us believe that we attract negative things to us. WE DO..LOL. because we told our mind to find them! We will focus on that some more on another day right now I need you to keep score!

Every time you think of words like this: can't, forever, never, will not, "Oh Boy", WHAT!, no, couldn't and the list goes on.... make a mark on your sheet. The first day you will probably be marking your sheet a lot. The goal here is that each day that passes you should be marking on your sheet less then the previous day. THAT'S OUR GOAL!

This is our first step to thinking positive. If we don't start training ourselves to think positive then we can not produce positive outcomes!

New energy coming to the blog.....

Good morning everyone,

I sit here this morning and I'm not sure where to start. I have so much to tell and share with you all that it is spinning my head. I will however let you know that my outlook on life has changed! I was a pessimistic person and found no true joy in anything I was doing. My personal life was in ruins and my Internet life (blog, facebook, ustream, etsy store and so on...) was getting out of control. I really hit rock bottom so much that I was starting to have chest pains.

Stress will do that to you. Stress will eat away at you until you are no longer able to handle it anymore. Things in my life seem to hand me major obstacles every time I turned around. I really felt that within a year I had too many deaths and too many family issues to deal with. It almost seemed there was nothing good in my life no matter where I turned.

I am learning now that life is what you make it. I really never believed that saying and I thought "Yea Right"! Well, I'm here today to tell you that the saying is so true and the first step to having a positive life is thinking that it is possible. I have so much to learn but I am now aware that I have so much to teach too! The first step towards this new life of mine is to give back! My goal is to have my blog help you motivate yourself to thinking "You Can Do This". I have seen so many people comment on my flowers and other projects and say they could never do that. NOPE...not with that attitude will you ever have a chance! I not only want to teach you how to create these flowers but also show you how to unlock that hidden talent that is inside of you. Motivational Scrapping....... here we come!

Last night something stuck me to watch the "Secret". I had heard a lot of people talking about it but I hadn't found the time to watch it. After reading the list of Oprah's 20 things she knew for sure, it got me thinking and wondering. It's funny how things happen sometimes. Someone sends you a link thinking you might like it and the next thing you know that link has sent you to another link and so on. Then you are reading and watching stuff that makes you wonder how you got there in the first place...hmmm.
Maybe it's a law of attraction, as they would say in the "Secret". I begin to wonder if this could really work. What really is the harm in finding out? It's way better than sitting around thinking about negative stuff and letting that slow you down (been there and done that).

So, I wanted to start something new on my blog and see where it takes me. I want to start doing "Gratitude Mondays". Why Monday, you ask? Well, let's think about that for a moment. Monday starts the week out for all of us. It decides how the rest of the week will go along. Mondays you are face with a different week than last week. Mondays are like a new beginning. You start out not knowing how the rest of the week will work for you. I always dreaded Mondays, not sure why. I just did. I looked at them as "oh boy, here we go again", lol. Now I want to try something new and think of Mondays as " WOW! This week is going to be great and it will bring something new! I really feel as though if you take Monday by the hand with a positive attitude it will bring you a pleasant week. Lets try this and see how different our week goes!

I want to start my week out by writing one thing I'm grateful for every Monday. Maybe by me sharing what I'm grateful for with others it might start a chain reaction! You never know unless you try, which I have heard all my life...lol!

Monday Gratitude:
I'm thankful for waking up this morning to a bright and cheerful sun. The sun brings so much to us and without it, well, I don't even want to imagine it! I love the sun hitting me in the face as I enter the bathroom. My window is in a perfect spot so it will catch the morning sun just right and shine right on you as you enter. The sun also brings the wonderful music of birds which I love. The sun brings so much to us that I'm totally going to start this week off by being thankful that it was shinning so bright for me this morning! So I ask you, what are you grateful for? Really think about it and let it manifest into something positive for you today and you will be doing your part in making your week start in a positive one!

My mom sent me this link to Oprah's website where she wrote about the things she knew for sure. When I was reading them I reflected on what I know and how I should apply some of these to my life. In the past month or so, things have been a little up and down with family, business and other little stick in the mud moments. I find myself traveling down a very fast trail and in a blink of eye life hands me a detour. I guess that is how life works and what really matters is how you prepare yourself for it or how you deal with it. Balance is some thing that takes practice and if you find yourself not mastering it, then maybe do what Oprah says "Be Still"! I'm not sure why I felt that I had to blog about this...maybe I'm trying to PIF and give some one the motivation and understanding like I got from this list. Not every one's list is the same but it's a good one to start with if you don't have one yet!

Here are the 20 things Oprah knows for sure!

1. What you put out comes back all the time, no matter what. (This is my creed.)

2. You define your own life. Don't let other people write your script.

3. Whatever someone did to you in the past has no power over the present. Only you give it power.

Altered Hat - Ustream Class Supply List 2/26/2011 @9pm EST

Since we had so much fun altering the fence last week, we are going to try our hands at altering a straw hat! I can't wait to see how all of our hats come out! 5" round straw hat (any local craft store)
Cardstock of your choice to create your flowers
12 - 2" Daisy punch or daisy cut outs on your cricut or other machine
12 - 1.5" Daisy punch or daisy cut outs on your cricut or other machine

12- 3/4" Daisy punch or daisy cut outs on your cricut or other machine
Center of flower - Your choice - Stamens, rhinestones, or buttons
Several leaves - at least 6 punched out or cut out of your choice. You can bring some green cardstock and I will show you how to cut them out by hand :)

Assortment of ornamental stems, stamens, leaves, berries, sprays, decorative buttons or anything else you can think of, to decorate around your flowers!
Lace (at least 12" long and 1/2" wide)
Ribbon (at least 12" long)
Spray bottle of water
Stylist
Heat gun or blow dryer
Mouse pad or other soft surface
Ink - a shade darker than the cardstock you are using.

A little birdie told me....

A birdie told me to create and they will come! LOL...Can you see how desperate I am for spring to get here. So I listened and I created this cute little bird house. This is a wooden bird house I had purchase many years ago at Michales. They still carry all different types of these little bird houses, so you are able to get them. I love creating my flowers and thought it would be very interesting to try and put them on this little piece. I loved creating this! I am really addicted to them now and I'm creating some larger ones too. If you notice there is a lot of details to this house. I have hand embossed all the petals and most of the leaves that you see on this house. I did however add some ornamental leaves to stick in between some of the flowers. I think they added that nice soft touch to this project! I look forward to sharing some more of my bird houses with you soon. I encourage you to get out your bird houses and start creating!

Hanging on the fence...

I did a Ustream class on this last weekend. I used a wooden fence found in the wood section of Michaels and thought what a cute piece to create some flowers on. This piece I made can be hung or placed on a scrapbook layout. To hang it all you would need to do is attach a hanger on the back or tie some jute string to it.

All the petals and leaves on this spray have been hand embossed and shaded for a realistic effect. The petals on the flowers have been shaded inside with chalk and ink. Each petal and leaf has been hand sculpted to create this beautiful spray. The spray is created as one piece. The stick pin in this creation is made by another fellow Etsy artist "angelicafranssen".

This piece measures: 6.25" x 4.25"

New Flower Spray Small and Meduim - Southern Pink

I had cut of a lot of pink paper and thought...what in the world am I going to do with these petals??? Well, I started to put these petals together and I had enough to make a meduim size one and a smaller one. This is probably my favorite by far that I have made. I love the color and really enjoyed creating this spray. This spray took me about 3hrs to create. There is a lot of hand embossing that goes into my sprays. Every petal and leaf is hand embossed and then shaded to make it come to life. Well, I really like my roses but I really LOVE my set of 4 roses! I don't know why but they look better in these sets! Altered Coffee Can

Well, my challenge was on MPTS Forum was "Green Christmas". We had to recycle or upcycle an item around the house. We love coffee and I keep these cans to store items in. So, I thought it would neat to see what I can do with one.

I cut the bottom off by putting it through my can opener..lol

It makes it easy to place over a candle but as my mom reminded me I could use one of those battery candles..LOL. Now she tells me!! :)

Good morning snowy monday....

I woke up to small little flakes falling from the sky this morning. It was so much better to see the snow than the rain we had all day long on Sunday. It has now been snowing a lot harder and the snow flakes are huge. I had gotten me into the spirit of things. Some things I was working on over the weekend are: new flowers, making homemade glimmer mist, finishing up layouts for family, playing scrabble. :)

I as making some new flowers that have stems on them so that people can use them in other ways. These flowers you can place in a vase, stick in foam, make a bouquet, wrap on pencils and so on....
I finally have made homemade glimmer mist. Thank goodness. I was going through a lot of the glimmer mist and that adds up after awhile. I actually like mine much better because I can control the color and shimmer I want in my mist.
I have been working on this Scrapbook for a family member and it is really coming out very pretty! I can't wait until she sees it! I'm super excited and I get to play around with a lot of my new flowers on these layouts too!
The family and I played Scrabbled this weekend. It was so much fun laughing about the words we tried so hard to use! It was very nice killing Darin (my honey) in a game of Scrabble too :)

Well, I had some time this morning to play around with a few things. I created this flower and wanted to add it to one of my sprays. This isn't my favorite but it's different and gives a different style to my flower sprays. I wanted this not to only be for winter but you could add this to any layout. I'm sitting here tonight working on Christmas cards for the family. The fire is roaring in the fireplace and making it nice and toasty in my scraproom. I have Christmas music playing in the back ground. Everything is wonderful until I look up out my window and there it is....SNOW! I finally have my perfect winter night.

We usually don't get snow but when we do, it is usually around Feb. I kind of felt as though I got a early Christmas gift from mother nature.

CPA - Holiday Cheer Dec's Challenge

Well, here it is! My project for CPA. This is a front cover to a mini album I'm working on for a family member. I have handmade all the flowers on the spray and have hand embossed all the petals and leaves. I love working with vintage and I love this image of this Santa. I hope to have some more of this album finished by this weekend.

We often run through life racing to get to the next day. We forget to stop some times and be thankful for what we have. I am guilty of this at times. The last couple of months, I feel like I have been climbing a mountain that never stops. Along the way I never noticed that there were valleys that I could have stopped at. Life is about learning lessons and growing stronger with each one. I'm thankful that I found a path to which I could take a rest and reflect on what I have in my life. I'm so very thankful for my family and friends. I know without them I couldn't have made it this far. They inspire me to keep pushing the limits of all of this. Each smile I see on my children's face is a blessing. Their spirits are like angels playing in the clouds. My friend's shoulders are strong from me leaning on them but they enjoy the workout..LOL. I'm also thankful for the support that my followers and customers give me. I have made some wonderful friends along the way. I want to show my appreciation by giving away this flower spray.

These mittens are so cute! These are OOAK and can not be purchased in the stores. I made some last year and they were a big hit! This year I can't seem to keep them in my Etsy store and my email is full of customers wondering when I will be listing more. I was sick last week and over the weekend. It was not fun at all! Christmas Shabby Chic Paper Flower Spray

I created something very pretty last night and I'm so excited to share with you all! I got most of my items cut of my stems do I can insert them into my sprays. I usually use glitter leaves and berries from Christmas picks to add a little sparkle to my sprays. Everything else on them are handmade by me. I create all the flowers by hand and the leaves. I can't wait to start cranking some more of these OOAK sprays out in my etsy shop. I posted this one just a few minutes ago in my store. I hope to have more by tomorrow! :)

I have to say I have been pretty busy lately. I have had so much on my plate that projects that I had made weeks ago never got their chance to shine..LOL. I made this wreath using my handmade flowers and leaves. I have made the paper flower sprays but want to test them out on some wreaths too. This wreath measures 6 inches. Every flower and leaf on this wreath has been handmade by me. Every petal and leaf has been hand embossed and inked. I love creating this flowers and I can't wait to see where I take them next. I'm working on some hair combs for weddings. I'm not sure when I will have them finished but when I do , I will post them here for everyone to see! Rusty Bucket - Sept. MPTS Challenge

Hello everyone!
Well, it's that time again, to show off my piece I did for MPTS.
I really wanted to challenge the girls and make them think outside of the box.
When I came up with "The Rusty Bucket" I knew it was going to set some of them outside their comfort zone. I think stepping out of our comfort zone sometimes allows us to create things that we never knew we had in us! I really enjoy how well our design team meshes. Everyone one of us has a different look but it works. I feel if everyone created the same way we would have nothing to offer that sets us apart from the rest. Every month that we have been doing these challenges, I'm always surprised! I really enjoy seeing every one's work when it arrives in my email. They totally motivate me and bring a smile to my face! Thank you girls for being such an awesome design team. I couldn't have asked for better team players!

My project I visioned an old rusting bucket sitting on a farm somewhere. It looks old and abused by labor of our ancestors. It was probably used for many types of things on the farm. It would help carry the feed to the animals. It was also used to bring the milk in from the cows. Sometimes it was often used for a wash bucket. My bucket's life brought ease to our ancestors and the rust that it wears today, well.....it's like a badge of honor!

So this was suppose to be a hair piece...well that's how I sketched out this project! I had every intention to put it in my hair but when I woke up the morning of the convention I was very tired and did not crawl out of bed until 8:30am. It didn't leave me much time to find the heavy duty hair clip I needed for this. So I just used the stick pin I made for it to stick it to my shirt. I'm glad that it worked out that way because I got so many compliments! I handed a lot of business cards out..YAY! This was my first time burning the fabric. I do have to say I did catch one of the fabric pieces on fire..LMBO! When everything was being put together for this piece I really liked how the fabric turned out. I'm so excited to make more. I might market them to the brides out there for weddings.....hmm.....ideas, ideas, ideas!! Here is my video of it before I went to convention.

So I took a break from Internet life and locked myself in my scrap room. I have created some flowers in the past but these are my favorite by far. They are big but very nice! I really enjoy making these flowers. I hand embossed each petal and then assemble each layer one at a time. Some I sprinkle with glitter and some I don't. I will be selling these flowers on my blog. I will not have them up and ready until tomorrow. I can create any color you can think of! I'm very glad that I took some time to myself and created flowers. I can't wait until the next set. These will have a different petal on them but may be as big as these though. I guess we'll wait and see! Check out my YouTube video, I give you a sneak peek to some of them.

MPTS August DT Challenge

Will you take a walk with me in Paris? Come by our challenge blog, More Paper Than Shoes and take the challenge to walk through Paris and create something beautiful! I did..and I loved every minute of it. I really wasn't sure what this was going to look like when I started it. When I was creating the tag I never had a vision of how I wanted it to look. I just kind of let my imagination take over and let me hands create! This tag is what I created. I love vintage and everything about it! This challenge allowed me to day dream of a place where I saw a couple holding hands and looking at all the vintage shops along the cobblestone road. They were looking for that special place to remember and to hold on to what they felt when they were there. As they look back onto that memory they will think to themselves "we'll always have Paris"!

My first corset tag

I'm so excited to share my first corset tag with you all. I had some free time today and played around in my scrap room. I really didn't think it was going to turn out like this when I started it. I love vintage stuff and love working with it. My next corset that I'm making will be black and hot pink with feathers. I really think it's going to turn out HOT! LOL

Beach Theme Tag

I had to just take some time and sit down and work on something really small. I have been sick the last couple of weeks haven't been fun at all! I really appreciate all the love I got on my Facebook Fan page when I was out. I got so many messages that were very encouraging when I was sick. Thank you so much for every one's kind words! Well, I couldn't go to the beach on Saturday even though I wanted to so bad, so I took some time and played around with some stuff. I made this vintage tag. I really thought it came out very cute! Well, I hope to have more projects posted this week. I'm so behind on orders and I'm almost caught up. I also have plans to open my own online store. I just bought my url last night. I can't wait! It should be up and running sometime in July. Well, I hope everyone has a great week and have fun scrapping!!

My First Mini

I have been wanting to make one of these for a long time and never made time to do it. I used a chipboard album from Michaels that I got out of their $1 section. I used a antique decoupage on the album to glue down the paper. It ages as it dries. I was really excited to make the flower on the front cover. Since I had not done one of these before I just took it one page at a time...LOL. I have one more page to finish and then I will take pictures of the inside pages to show you. I also have to add ribbon and fibers to the metal rings that are holding the album together. That's going to be the fun part!!

Well, I guess you could say that it's morning...it's 12:35am as I'm starting this entry. It has rained all day but the breeze has felt very nice blowing through my windows. I have enjoyed listening to the rain hit the puddles that are collecting outside of my window. I got a few things done today. I have a cold and it's making my head spin when I sit up for long periods of time. This isn't fun at all! I tried not to let it slow me down. I started on my fabric flowers again. I think my purple ones turned out very cute. I'll take a picture in the morning to show you. I also started working on some other flowers to post in my store too. I really need to stock my store back up. I would like to work on some tags tomorrow, but every time I say I'm going to do something, it never fails that something gets in the way of making it happen. I got two new sets of stamps in the mail today..YAY! I love the fairy stamps, they are too cute! I already stamped with a few of them tonight, so I could get an idea of what they are going to look like. They are kind f big but I might try something different with them. I might try adding them to some of my mini layouts. Well, I'm calling it a night! See you all in the morning :~P

I only did one set last week for theme week. The Cherry Embellishment is from my first theme week sets, I just never posted it in my shop. I did however add some flowers to it. I really love the sunshine peaking over the flowers. This could go on so many different layouts. (example: baby, spring, summer, and etc...)

Good morning,
I have had a very busy weekend and I caught a cold. I woke up Saturday morning and couldn't talk. Well, these flowers were suppose to be listed on Saturday but I didn't get a chance to so I listed them this morning. I'm really having fun making all these different kinds of flowers. I hope to start on my fabric flowers this week too. I have a few done but they just didn't look right. You can see more of my sets in my Etsy Store!

A little something I did while I was watching TV

Hello,
I was watching General Hospital today on my computer because I missed it yesterday. Well, I was kind of bored so I thought I would play around with some scraps that I had laying around. I actually cleaned my scrap area today..LOL. I had paper everywhere!!! I just got some buttons from China today in the mail. They were so cute and I couldn't wait to use them BUT guess what I didn't use them..lol. The color just motivated me!! I will take a picture of all my goodies tomorrow and show you what I got off of Ebay. So, I kept throwing my cereal boxes in the recycle bins in the garage and noticed that I had a ton out there. So....a brilliant thought came to mind...lets make something with it. I got my large scallop punch out and punched the chipboard with it. Then I started making my tag. I first painted the chipboard with acrylic paint "Teal". Then I got out my Martha Stewart glue pad and inked up a really cute stamp with glue and stamped my chipboard. I then poured glittered onto the stamped image. I knocked off the glitter and dried it with my hair drier...LOL...I know...I know...I need a heat gun. That's on my list of things to get this weekend. Then I played around with my water and bazzill paper, to create the little blue flowers. Also, I made the stem that the flowers are glued to. I saw a lady making her own stems and vines and thought I would try it out. It didn't come out like I wanted it but oh well, it works!! Then I picked up a pack of these cute little butterflies at walmart that were on clearance for $1.00. I popped it with a pop dot. I then punched my hole for my eyelet and ran some fibers and ribbon through it. I then stamped "dream" onto a small piece of bazzill paper and then popped it up with a pop dot. So, after a few minutes playing with all these things I came up with this tag. You never know what you will come up with when playing around with different items and freelancing it!

Theme Week ~ Gaeden ~ Tomato Embellishment Sign

This would look so cute in one of those window box gardens. I made this embellishment using Spellbinders and Quickutz Dies. Something simple but cute and very easy to make. My picture came out a little odd and I'm not too sure what happened. Oh well....as long as you can see the picture I guess that is all that matters right! Hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
