Ustream Show "Girls Night"

I usually do "Girl's Night" Ustream shows on the Saturday nights that I don't have scheduled shows. I like these shows the best. We always have a lot of fun chatting and letting them pick what I create :) or show them! Well, this night I had to show off the mini hat box templates on "Ooh-la-la Vintage Treasures" blog, because I made some thing other than a box! I made a top hat from the template. I was so excited and like the girls saw that night I had rush through putting it together and it looked all junked up with glue. I did however show them how we can hide our mistakes..lol :)
I covered the outside with the wallpaper pieces that you can find in their store too!

I made this hat from the template pieces
1 - Large Bottom
1 - Small Top
1 - Strip double measured width of the small bottom band

I was very easy to put together!
You can find the template here:

Paper Cubed Shadow Box Challenge

I really fell in love with this picture of my daughter and had to do something with it! Something more than just put it on a layout. When I got the challenge for the Shadow box my first thought was "I have to use that picture!" I took a unfinished wooden shadow box and painted the outside with red and black paint from Americana Paints. Then after the paint dried I sprayed some gold glimmer mist on it. I kind of wanted to add a different type of shine to the paint instead of a gloss. I took some lady bug buttons and cut the backs off and glued them to the outside of the shadow box. I also took the baby lady bugs and added them to the Spanish moss that I glued in the inside of the frame. I hand punched some flowers and added some buttons to the center. I wanted to make it look like she was playing with the lady bugs in the grass. I matted her picture to red bazzill paper and added some ribbon and rhinestones to make it even out the picture. My little girl was so excited watching me put all of these little touches around her picture. She is so in love with lady bugs, that she is officially the queen of the lady bugs in our yard! The funny part about calling her that is every time she goes outside one is always crawling on her!
