12x12 Layout - Treasured Garden

WOW! Let me just say it has been a very busy 4 months. Some ups and downs but I'm sooooo... ready for the new year! I think the hardest part of walking your path in life is that some times you can't see where that path is taking you and you doubt yourself. I think that is some thing that many of us struggle with. We try to plan how the path will go and we start doubting it once our plans are adjusted or caught off course. Some times that best thing to do is sit and be still. Let yourself have a chance to see where the path wants to take you instead of where you want the path to lead. It's a very hard thing to do. This is the hardest thing I struggle with. I want to see the end result before I walk down the path and I have learn you miss A LOT when you have your blinders on. Some times you get caught up on trying to figure it all out, that you miss a lot of what is going on around you.  When that happens you need to pull into a pit stop. If you can't get your head back into the game your pit stop may be the one thing that keeps you from going after your dream.

While I was at my recent pit stop I decide to just sit down and create a page. I can't remember the last time I created a 12x12 layout. Maybe the summer??

I kept the layout simple until I started creating my garden of flowers.
The angle of the photo is horrible but its been really wet outside and trying to catch some sun was working against me today. Couldn't lay on the wet ground to capture this one..LOL

I love adding all kinds of trinkets into my garden of flowers. It's fun to hide and seek elements, specially when you are working with sprays of flowers. It's almost like a game of "Where's Waldo"!
Lets play for a moment shall we?
Can you find these things?

I hope to have some more time after the new year to work on some fab projects and showcase them here on my blog. I haven't been using it very often. I just need to get back into the swing of things again :)

I have been working on some thing in between all the hustle and bustle.
We have added a new and improved classroom on my website.
We have not opened the doors for visitors just yet BUT I am holding a VIP class in Feb 2013. This will be the opening of the first classroom. We hope by March 2013 to have the creative commons where you can see the different classrooms you might want to join open and ready for registration. That is still a work in progress but the VIP class is going to be an awesome flower class. You can read more about it on my "How-To Classes" page.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful TGIF!
Check back tomorrow and see what I will be giving away!
Until then...

Hugs,
Anna

Her name is Shaylee.....

This little shabby home actually has a name. She was blessed with the name Shaylee. Her name means fairy princess of the fields.

The fairies built this little house when they came to the mainland to bring spring. This house is a reminder that when we age we are actually blossoming into something beautiful!

Here is what I did to get the weathered look on the house.

I painted the house with a base coat of soft pink. After allowing the paint to dry I applied the weathered wooden medium to the house.
I waited about an hour and applied the soft blue paint over the medium.
It started to crack right away1

I then used a brown paint to coat the roof of the house. After the paint dried I applied the weather wood medium over top of it. After waiting about an hour I coated the roof with a vanilla cream color.
I really like the weathered look of the house. It gives it a shabby chic look.

I then created some flowers, leaves, and added a few rhinestones!

I hope I have motivated you to get your houses out and create with them! I have a very fun project I will post tomorrow. It's the mother's Day project I did for my mom. I will show you some before and after pictures too!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Christmas Shabby Chic Paper Flower Spray

I created something very pretty last night and I'm so excited to share with you all! I got most of my items cut of my stems do I can insert them into my sprays. I usually use glitter leaves and berries from Christmas picks to add a little sparkle to my sprays. Everything else on them are handmade by me. I create all the flowers by hand and the leaves. I can't wait to start cranking some more of these OOAK sprays out in my etsy shop. I posted this one just a few minutes ago in my store. I hope to have more by tomorrow! :)
